Some said that this day would never come. However, it would seem that tomorrow’s mysterious press conference is going to be all about that day.

According to Dynamo – professional magician and close ally of Stone Roses lead singer Ian Brown – the much-hyped reformation is no longer speculation, but fact. Dynamo received a text from his friend – whilst partying at a London club over the weekend – in which Brown apparently professed that “we are going to rule the world again.” Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately for the Roses camp) a reporter from tabloid paper The Sun was on standby to share in the jubilation.

Meanwhile, the news of an imminent Stone Roses reunion has been met with mixed feelings by die-hard fans. Some have questioned the truth of the rumour, whilst others fear that the 2012 gigs will destroy the amazing legacy of The Stone Roses. The rest merely fear that it will be virtually impossible to get tickets for such high-profile shows, which are thought to be happening in the band’s home city of Manchester.

For many years now, The Stone Roses’ self-titled debut album has been consistently cited by many – both critics and fans – to be one of the greatest of all time. The indie legends released one more album, The Second Coming, in 1994. Following many legal blows and in-band disputes, The Stone Roses split two years later.
